The Member for Dubbo Troy Grant said an additional 24 seats on each QantasLink flight between Sydney and Dubbo is welcome news to the many frequent flyers who use the service.

"Anyone who has experienced the frustration of trying to book a seat on an already heavily booked flight can take heart from the fact that there will now be more opportunities to hop on a plane at short notice," said Mr Grant.

"This decision by Qantas Link is clearly in response to the strong demand demonstrated for the service by travellers within the Dubbo electorate."

QantasLink has announced it will upgrade eight return services between Dubbo and Sydney from a 50 seat Q300 aircraft to a 74-seat Q400 aircraft, resulting in 384 additional seats offered on the route each week.

Other regional centres to benefit from the upgrade include Wagga Wagga, Albury and Port Macquarie.
