Labors reaction to the State Infrastructure Strategy (SIS) should sound alarm bells for regional communities if the Opposition Leader's recent contribution in Parliament is anything to go by, the Member for Dubbo Troy Grant said today.

John Robertson's performance during a recent debate on the release of the strategy underlines the contempt within Labor ranks for regional NSW.

"His failure to mention regional infrastructure projects in his speech comes as no surprise given that the party he represents has learnt nothing in the past 18 months and continues to focus upon Sydney at the expense of the rest of the state," said Mr Grant.

"Unlike Labor, the Liberals/Nationals Government has responded to the infrastructure needs of communities like Dubbo and this is clearly reflected in the array of infrastructure projects in the electorate that have been identified for early commencement under the plan."

Most importantly the proposed redevelopment of the Forbes Hospital, construction of the Parkes Hospital and the Dubbo Base Hospital redevelopment stages one and two have been accorded a high priority.

"If it had been left to John Robertson and Labor, none of these projects would have got off the ground during this term," said Mr Grant.

"Mr Robertson's inability to identify regional infrastructure projects worthy of support speaks volumes towards his ignorant approach to addressing the needs of regional and rural communities."
